Optimal Control of Plug-In Electric Vehicles Charging for Composition of Frequency Regulation Services

This paper presents a novel control system for the participation of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) in provisioning ancillary services frequency regulation, way that is transparent to driver and harmonized with smart charging service requirements. Given power-frequency droop curve, which specifies how set PEVs collectively participate regulation (we call this curve “global” curve), we propose an algorithm compute “local” curves (one each PEV), are optimized according current status PEV progress recharging session. Once aggregated, local match global one (so contribute as expected service). One innovative aspect proposed it specifically designed be interoperable algorithms process; hence, drivers. Simulation results presented validate solution.
